1. What does this product do?

It is a device that propels the motion of the thigh, especially for people with a single amputated leg, amputated above their knee. Unlike the off-the-cuff response of an RGO, our device actuates in a strategic and timely fashion. This reduces the cognitive load and increases the feeling of balance.

2. How much does it weigh? Does it cause fatigue after use?

Our beta prototype weighs less than 3 kgs. We expect the final product to weigh close to 2.5kgs with improved battery life. It doesn't cause any fatigue as the weight distribution is planned ergonomically. We have used our prototype for walking sessions ranging from 20 - 25 mins on able bodied users and found absolutely no discomfort while usage and after usage.

3. Can it reduce my walking effort?

The level of assistance ranges from a minimum of 10 percent to a maximum of 60 percent for an above knee amputee of weight ranging between 80 -90 kgs. The level of asistance and duration of actuation can be increased or decreased by the press of a button by utilising our very own phone app.

4. How many users were tested?

The current product has been tested on over 5 above knee amputees in different stages of rehabilitation.
